Hacking, malware, malicious script and injected code protection for WordPress

There are a lot of really nasty people online who have nothing better to do than hack other peoples websites for a range of purposes such as sabotage, theft, manipulate search engine rankings and just out of plain boredom and doing it for fun. The consequences of your WordPress site being hacked or having malware installed are never minor and range up to the extremely serious consequence of the public release of sensitive client data. At a minimum the hacked website is not available to be used by your customers or website visitors; or worse, your site is used for illegal activities. It can also affect your website traffic from the search engines, and not to mention it just does not look good for your reputation.

This is what you do not want to see in your browser when you go to your website.

The hacks and installation of malicious code, malware and scripts happen for a number of reasons. A common one is the failure to keep the WordPress core files and the plugins used up-to-date with the latest version, especially if a vulnerability is found in one of them, (we can help with that). They can also occur due to hacks at the server level and can also occur via the use of weak passwords.

Once this happens, it needs to be cleaned up and the files restored. This will not happen instantly as the hacks and malicious code need to be found and removed. How it got there will need to be determined and blocked (otherwise they will be right back to do it again). This can be expensive and time consuming.

Obviously the best way of dealing with this is making sure that it doesn’t happen in the first place. That is what we do. Firstly we keep you keep you up-to-date; secondly we add a couple of plugins to toughen up the security on your WordPress site and we monitor them remotely, constantly. The scans are looking for malware and scripts that should not be there. We are alerted immediately something happens that could be suspicious and take action to stop it going any further.

As we report monthly to all clients what we have done and what we are doing, you will know exactly what is going on with your site.
